Summer 2016 – Open Studios, a Wandering Minstrel and Antipodean Flavours
In June a few Creating Space regulars set up a break-away group under the trees by the hall! Together they spun, wove and painted in the shade of a huge Horse Chestnut. In other news we welcomed new friends, adding more Southern Hemisphere vibe to our Northern Hemisphere space. Also my fabric, which I had thought was Australian seems to be Singaporean. I love this melting pot of knowing and creating.
I am looking forward to welcoming Jo back in July after her springtime mission to recharge her musical self. In truth, this project for Jo has been an undercurrent for a longer period, but rubbish timing has predominated. All commitments seem to be on the same weekends as our sessions. Its Jo’s profession, so we will just wait. It will be worth it!
Open Studios has been a great space to explore synergies. We all share fibre as a passion but we interpret it in different ways. Me, through dyeing, Hazel through spinning techniques and Jayne through felting. Makes for great diversity of styles in our show. We are showing again this weekend – 9th and 10th of July, at Harlton Village Hall from 11am – 6pm. We’d love to see you.
